The Chicago Blackhawks have promoted Meghan Hunter to assistant general manager of hockey operations and Karilyn Pilch as the team's director of player personnel while retaining Mark Eaton as an assistant GM and Brian Campbell as an advisor.
This completes the team's new front office group led by general manager Kyle Davidson who took over for Stan Bowman after he stepped aside after the conclusion of an investigation into sexual assault allegations.
“As I said before, this foundation for leadership will help our shared vision for the future become a reality,” said Davidson in a statement. “Our goal is to be best-in-class in all we do and organizing a structure and defining roles behind the scenes is an important step. I have a lot of faith and trust in this leadership team, along with the staff who works under them, and I look forward to working with our entire group to build a successful team on the ice.”
Hunter joined the Blackhawks in 2016 serving in various roles within the team's hockey operations and scouting departments. In her new position, Hunter will be in charge of budgeting, team services, contract execution, team security and player services.
Eaton will be in charge of Chicago's AHL affiliate, the Rockford IceHogs, and oversee the amateur and professional player development and performance. He has been with the organization since 2014 as a player development coach.
Campbell has been a player development coach for the Blackhawks over the last four seasons after retiring from the NHL in 2017. In his 17 seasons in the league, Campbell played for the Blackhawks, Florida Panthers, San Jose Sharks and Buffalo Sabres.
Pilch was hired by the Blackhawks in 2021 as a scout following her collegiate career at Boston University where she remained with the school as the team's director of hockey operations. She also served as the general manager of the Boston Pride in the Premier Hockey Federation.
