The Chicago Blackhawks are adding some veteran depth to their young forward corps.
Centre Dominic Toninato has signed a two-year, two-way deal with the Blackhawks worth $850,000 at the NHL level, the team announced Tuesday.
Toninato, 31, made five regular-season and two post-season appearances with the Winnipeg Jets last season but failed to log a point.
However, in 60 games with the Manitoba Moose in the AHL, he had 18 goals and 18 assists.
Since being drafted 126th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the fifth round of the 2012 NHL Draft, the Duluth, Minn., native has 13 goals and 22 assists in 189 NHL games.
