The Chicago Blackhawks have signed forward Ryan Donato to a two-year deal worth $4 million, the club announced Saturday.
Donato spent the past two seasons with the Seattle Kraken, after stints with San Jose, Minnesota and Boston. The 27-year-old made his NHL debut with the Bruins after a three-year run at Harvard University.
"Ryan adds depth and versatility to our team and will complement our forward group well," said Chicago GM Kyle Davidson, per a team release. "He will be a great addition to our system."
Through 325 career NHL games in his six-year big-league career, Donato's collected 65 goals and 135 points. He put up 14 goals and 27 points through 71 games last season with Seattle, and a career-best 16 goals and 31 points one year prior.
Donato has also represented Team USA on the international stage on multiple occasions, winning bronze for the Americans at the 2016 World Juniors and 2021 IIHF World Championship. He suited up for the red, white and blue at the 2018 Olympic Games as well.
