The Chicago Blackhawks are adding some depth in net before the NHL season resumes.
Chicago signed goaltender Olivier Rodrigue to a one-year, two-way contract on Saturday, per a team announcement. The deal runs through the rest of the 2025-26 season and carries a $775,000 average annual value.
Rodrigue, 25, signed a free-agent contract with the KHL's Barys Astana in August, but suffered an injury before the season and mutually terminated his contract with the team.
The six-foot-one netminder appeared in two games for the Edmonton Oilers in 2024-25, making 25 saves across both contests. He spent most of his time that season with the AHL's Bakersfield Condors, recording an .897 save percentage and 3.12 goals-against average over 41 games.
Edmonton originally selected Rodrigue in the second round of the 2018 NHL Draft.
The Chicoutimi, Que., native will join a Chicago team that sits 10 points back of the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference with a 22-26-8 record.
