The Chicago Blackhawks are working on a potential trade involving Duncan Keith that could send the veteran defenceman to either the Pacific Northwest or Western Canada, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.

Friedman says the Blackhawks and Keith are working together to get the 37-year-old to a place he wants to go.

The Winnipeg native has spent his entire NHL career in Chicago, playing 16 seasons with the franchise. This past season, Keith had four goals and 15 points in 54 regular season games.

In 2017, Keith was named one of the 100 greatest players in NHL history. The alternate captain has helped the Blackhawks to three Stanley Cups in 2010, 2013 and 2015.
