The Columbus Blue Jackets' home game against the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday will start two hours late, at 8:30 p.m. ET / 5:30 p.m. PT, because of a power outage in the downtown core.
Nationwide Arena was without power as of 2:40 p.m. ET, according to electricity supplier AEP Ohio, which later announced that it would be restored at 6 p.m., 30 minutes before the puck was scheduled to drop at the arena.
According to the Columbus Dispatch, the arena is employing backup power for the coolers beneath the ice.
