The Columbus Blue Jackets have claimed defenceman Dante Fabbro off waivers from the Nashville Predators, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported on Sunday.
Fabbro hasn't registered a point through six games with the Predators this season.
To make room on the roster, the Blue Jackets placed forward Kent Johnson on injured reserve. Johnson suffered an upper-body injury back on Oct. 17 and was expected to be out long-term according to head coach Dean Evason.
The 26-year-old signed a one-year, $2.5 million contract this past off-season.
Nashville selected Fabbro 17th overall in the 2016 NHL Draft and was a highly touted prospect from his time with Boston University.
In 315 career games, the Coquitlam, B.C., native has 16 goals and 72 points.
