The Columbus Blue Jackets have extended forward Yegor Chinakhov's contract through to the end of the 2023-24 season, GM Jarmo Kekalainen announced Tuesday.
The one-year extension is worth $800,000, according to Aaron Portzline of The Athletic.
"Yegor has shown great improvement this season despite missing considerable time over the past few months due to injury," general manager Jarmo Kekalainen said in a statement. "He is a talented player with a great work ethic and desire to improve, and we are very excited about his future with the Blue Jackets."
Chinakhov, 22, has played only 30 games with Columbus this season after sustaining an ankle injury on Dec. 19. He has four goals and 13 points.
The Blue Jackets drafted Chinakhov 21st overall in the 2020 NHL Draft.
