The Columbus Blue Jackets lost Sean Monahan to an injury during Friday's game against the Buffalo Sabres.
Monahan was forced to exit in the second period after blocking a shot from Sabres defenceman Rasmus Dahlin while on the penalty kill.
The veteran was in visible pain on the play and limped his way to the bench once the puck went down the ice.
He was later ruled out by the team with a lower-body injury.
Monahan had logged 11:06 of ice time and recorded an assist on Kent Johnson's first-period marker before being sent to the locker room.
The 32-year-old centre entered Friday with one goal and four assists through the first 14 games of Columbus's season.
A veteran of 14 NHL campaigns, Monahan had 13 goals and 23 assists over 78 games for the Blue Jackets in 2025-26.
