Two AHLers have found a fresh start.
The Columbus Blue Jackets have acquired Brendan Gaunce from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for Cameron Butler, the teams announced on Thursday.
Gaunce, 31, was picked 26th overall in 2012 by the Vancouver Canucks and has played in 189 career NHL games. He collected one assist in 14 games last year with the Wild, while scoring 29 points in 39 games with their AHL affiliate in Iowa.
Butler played in 37 games with the AHL's Cleveland Monsters last season, registering three points. The undrafted 23-year-old appeared in one NHL game with the Blue Jackets in 2023-24.
