The Columbus Blue Jackets are taking on a shot on some wing depth.
Forward Hudson Fasching is joining the team on a one-year, two-way deal, the club announced on Monday. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The 30-year-old right winger spent the last three seasons in the New York Islanders organization, alternating between the NHL club and its AHL affiliate in Bridgeport, Conn.
Fasching has recorded 16 goals, 21 assists (37 points) and 24 penalty minutes in his 137 NHL games with the Islanders. In his AHL career, Fasching has nine goals, five assists (14 points) and eight penalty minutes across 28 games.
The six-foot-three forward was selected 118th overall in the fourth round of the 2013 NHL Draft by the Los Angeles Kings.
"Hudson Fasching is a hard-working, responsible winger with size who plays with a great deal of energy," said general manager Don Waddell. "His high character, experience and versatility strengthens our organizational depth up front and we’re happy to welcome him to the Blue Jackets.”
