St. Louis Blues forward Adam Jecho will be unavailable to the team for an indefinite period while he receives care from the Player Assistance Program, the NHL and NHLPA announced on Friday.
The release did not include why Jecho is receiving assistance from the program, which provides confidential support and treatment for players and their families dealing with mental health, substance use or other personal issues.
The 20-year-old centre from Zlin, Czechia was drafted in the third round, 95th overall by the Blues in the 2024 NHL Draft.
He has yet to make his NHL debut and has spent the last three years with the WHL's Edmonton Oil Kings, recording 36 points (10 goals, 26 assists) in 47 games last season.
The release stated that under the terms of the joint program, Jecho will return to the Blues when he is cleared for on-ice competition by program administrators.
