St. Louis Blues forward Sammy Blais was given a game misconduct penalty after hitting Montreal Canadiens defenceman Jordan Harris from behind and hitting him into the boards.
Harris appeared to hit his head on the play, was slow to get to his feet and was declared out for the remainder of the game. The team later announced him to be day-to-day with an upper-body injury.
The hit occurred just over five minutes into the first period as Jordan Harris seemed to be falling behind his own net. Blais went in for a hit and seemed to crunch Harris's head against the boards.
Blais was given a five-minute major for boarding and a game misconduct and Harris was ruled out with an upper-body injury.
The Blues forward has one goal and seven points in 40 games this season.
Harris, meanwhile, missed time earlier in the year with a lower-body injury. He has one goal and six points in 30 appearances with the Canadiens this year.
