The St. Louis Blues will be without one of their top forwards for the foreseeable future.
Centre Dylan Holloway is set to miss at least the next six weeks after being placed on the injured reserve with a right-ankle injury, the team announced Monday.
Holloway suffered the injury at practice on Sunday after being tripped up during a drill and had to be helped off the ice by team staff.
The 24-year-old is the Blues' second-leading scorer with eight goals and nine assists for 17 points, behind only first-line centre Robert Thomas.
Holloway joined the Blues as a restricted free agent in Aug. 2024 after being handed an offer sheet from the team. The Edmonton Oilers, his team the year prior, chose not to match the Blues' offer.
The Calgary native broke out with the Blues last year, tallying 26 goals and 37 assists in 77 games.
Drafted 14th overall by the Oilers in 2020, Holloway has 43 goals and 55 assists through 199 games over his four-year NHL career.
In a corresponding move, the Blues activated forward Alexey Toropchenko from the injured reserve. He has been out since Nov. 29 after suffering scalding burns to his legs in a home accident.
The Russian forward had one goal and one assist in 17 games before missing his seven-game absence.
