The St. Louis Blues will have to finish Wednesday night's game against the New Jersey Devils down a forward.
Pavel Buchnevich exited the game midway through the second period after falling awkwardly in the slot. During the second intermission, the team announced that he would be out for the remainder of the game with a lower-body injury.
The Blues forward played 8:54 and recorded one assist before being forced to exit.
Coming into Wednesday's matchup with the Devils, the 29-year-old had six goals and eight assists in 23 games this season.
Buchnevich signed a six-year, $48 million extension with the Blues in July that will begin next season.
