The Los Angeles Kings have signed winger Brendan Lemieux to a one-year, $1.35-million contract, after not offering him a qualifying offer before he became a free agent.
Lemieux, 26, had eight goals and five assists in 50 games with the Kings last season.
The son of former NHLer Claude Lemieux, Brendan has 31 goals and 29 assists in 230 career NHL games with the Winnipeg Jets, New York Rangers and Kings.
The Buffalo Sabres selected Lemieux in the second round (31st overall) of the 2014 NHL Draft before trading him to the Jets in a multi-player deal a year later.
