Jamie Langenbrunner is ready for a new opportunity.
The Boston Bruins are allowing Langenbrunner to explore new opportunities across the NHL, the team announced on Thursday.
Langenbrunner has been with the Bruins since 2015 and has served multiple roles. He has most recently served as the assistant general manager for the past four seasons.
He joined the Bruins after a 20-year playing career with the Dallas Stars, New Jersey Devils and St. Louis Blues. He won two Stanley Cups (1999, 2003) and a silver medal as the captain of Team USA at the 2010 Winter Olympics.
Langenbrunner played in 1,109 career regular-season games, tallying 663 points (243 goals, 420 assists). He also played in 146 playoff games, scoring 34 goals and 53 assists.
The 50-year-old is rumoured to be heading to the Vancouver Canucks as part of their new-look front office with the Sedins and Ryan Johnson.
