The Boston Bruins will be hoping for the best for one of their more productive players of late.
Centre Elias Lindholm exited Tuesday's game against the Nashville Predators after suffering an upper-body injury, the team announced in the third period.
The incident occurred with just under five minutes left in the second period. As Lindholm lined up for a faceoff, he appeared to get hit by Predators forward Cole Smith and went down to the ice.
He stayed on his knees for a moment before skating off the ice under his own power and heading back to the team's locker room.
Lindholm exited the game having played 11:03 of ice time and registering one shot on goal.
The 31-year-old has had a productive second season with the Bruins, tallying 11 goals and 26 assists in 44 games. The Swedish centre has three goals and four assists in his last five games heading into Tuesday.
