The Toronto Maple Leafs must be regretting trading away Fraser Minten right now.
The Boston Bruins forward was named the NHL Rookie of the Month for January, the league announced on Sunday.
Minten led all rookies with eight goals in January, and he was also tied for the rookie lead in points with 14.
The former second-round pick's 14 points tie the highest total in a month by a rookie this season. Minten posted a point in eight of Boston's 14 games in January, including four multi-point performances.
Minten was acquired by the Bruins from the Leafs on last season's trade deadline in exchange for Brandon Carlo, a 2026 first-round pick (top five protected) and a 2025 fourth-round pick (from Philadelphia).
The 21-year-old has totalled 14 goals and 15 assists for 29 points in 55 games this season. He leads all rookie skaters in plus-minus this season (plus-20) and is 20th overall in the NHL.
Among rookies, Minten ranks sixth in scoring and fourth in goals. He is the first Bruin to earn rookie of the month honours since Jeremy Swayman in 2022.
