Boston Bruins' forward Brad Marchand has been assessed a $5,000 fine for a dangerous trip against Seattle Kraken's Oliver Bjorkstrand, the Department of Player Safety announced Friday.
The incident occurred during the third period of the Bruins' 6-5 win on Thursday. During a post-whistle altercation with Bjorkstrand, Marchand wrapped his leg behind Bjorkstrand and shoved him backwards, slew-footing him.
Both players were given two-minute minor penalties on the play.
The fine is the maximum allowable amount under the CBA.
