The Boston Bruins will be on the ice again to practice Wednesday night after being shutdown by COVID-19 for several days.

The Bruins are on track to play the New York Islanders on Thursday night in Boston.

Last Friday, the NHL postponed two Bruins games — a Saturday matchup against the Buffalo Sabres and a Tuesday game against the Islanders — after four additional players entered the league's COVID protocols for a total of five players.

Forwards Jake DeBrusk, David Krejci, David Pastrnak, Sean Kuraly and Craig Smith were among Bruins players placed on the NHL’s COVID absences list. Krejci, Pastrnak and Smith were removed from the protocols on Wednesday.

Both the Bruins and Sabres cancelled practices on Thursday when one member of each organization entered the league's COVID-19 protocols. However, after testing and tracing, the game went ahead as scheduled and Bruins forward Sean Kuraly was placed on the NHL's COVID-19 protocol list.
