The Boston Bruins will be missing a key depth scorer in Tuesday's must-win Game 5.
Head coach Marco Sturm announced that Viktor Arvidsson didn't travel to Buffalo and will miss Game 5 against the Sabres.
Arvidsson suffered an upper-body injury in Sunday's Game 4 loss and missed practice on Monday.
The 33-year-old Arvidsson had a bounce-back season, scoring 25 goals and 54 points in 69 games. He has two goals against the Sabres in the series.
Sturm did not tip his hand on who would enter the lineup to replace Arvidsson, with Mikey Eyssimont or Alex Steeves as candidates to play. On the blue line, Henri Jokiharju will replace Jordan Harris.
The Sabres can eliminate the Bruins and advance to Round 2 with a win in Game 5. Puck drop is at 7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. PT on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+.
