The Calgary Flames have signed their second-round pick from the 2023 NHL Draft, defenceman Étienne Morin to an entry-level deal, the team announced on Friday.
The contract will take on an annual cap hit of $903,400 through the 2026-27 season.
The six-foot, left-handed blue-liner spent his junior hockey career in the QMJHL, suiting up for three seasons with the Moncton Wildcats. In 2023-24, he recorded 12 goals and 37 assist for 49 points in 58 games, while adding three helpers through four playoff games.
The 19-year-old made his professional hockey debut at the tail end of this past season, appearing in one game with the Flames' AHL affiliate, the Calgary Wranglers.
