The great goalie question will remain unanswered until closer to game time for Canada.
Coach Jon Cooper told reporters he would not name a starting goalie on Wednesday, just over 24 hours before Canada's Olympic men's hockey opener against Czechia.
Cooper will inform the starter of his decision later Wednesday, he added.
Jordan Binnington played all four games for Canada en route to gold in last year's 4 Nations Face-Off. He is back with Team Canada for the Olympics, but has struggled for much of the NHL season with the St. Louis Blues (3.65 goals-against average, .864 save percentage).
Darcy Kuemper of the Los Angeles Kings (2.59 GAA, .900 save percentage) and Logan Thompson of the Washington Capitals (2.45 GAA, .912 save percentage) are Canada's other goalies.
Canada faces Czechia on Thursday at 10:40 a.m. ET / 7:40 a.m. PT (CBC Gem, Sportsnet+).
