The Montreal Canadiens have agreed to terms with forward Alex Belzile on a one-year, two-way contract, the team announced Thursday.
The 29-year-old will earn $750,000 in the NHL and $250,000 in the AHL, with a guaranteed salary of $300,000.
Belzile added one assist in the two games he played with the Canadiens last season. With the AHL’s Laval Rocket, the Saint-Eloi, Que., native recorded four goals and 14 points in 17 games. He also posted a plus-6 differential and served 39 penalty minutes during the 2020-21 AHL season.
Since debuting in the AHL during the 2012-13 season, Belzile has registered 58 goals and 146 points over 256 games with the Rocket, Hamilton Bulldogs and San Antonio Rampage.
