Canadiens' Alex Newhook returns to lineup against Stars

Montreal Canadiens forward Alex Newhook is back in the lineup Saturday against the Dallas Stars after missing 27 games due to a high-ankle sprain.

Newhook sustained the injury during a game against the Florida Panthers on Nov. 30.

Montreal acquired Newhook from the Colorado Avalanche for Gianni Fairbrother and a pair of draft picks last June.

The 23-year-old from St. John's, N.L., recorded 13 points (seven goals and six assists) in 23 games before the injury.

To make room for Newhook, the Canadiens announced Friday they had loaned forward Lucas Condotta to the Laval Rocket of the American Hockey League.
