New Montreal Canadiens forward Sean Monahan will make his pre-season debut for the club on Monday when the team hosts the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Monahan was traded to the Habs by the Calgary Flames in August. He underwent season-ending hip surgery in April.

Meanwhile, new Canadiens captain Nick Suzuki will play his first pre-season game on Tuesday when the club hosts the Ottawa Senators, the team confirmed Monday.

Suzuki suffered a lower-body injury before training camp opened last month.

Suzuki was named captain of the team on Sept. 12.

The Canadiens also said goaltender Jake Allen will play the full game on Monday.
