One of Montreal's top defencemen is nearing his return.
Kaiden Guhle was back at practice with the Canadiens on Tuesday, the team announced.
Guhle has been out since Oct. 18 with a lower-body injury and was initially sidelined for four to six weeks.
The 23-year-old has played just five games this season, putting up one goal and two points.
Guhle is in the first year of a six-year, $33.3-million contract he signed with Montreal last off-season.
The 16th overall pick in 2020 has 17 goals, 43 assists and 60 points in 174 career games with the Canadiens.
There is no set timeline for his return, but his next chance to play will come Wednesday against the Calgary Flames (7:30 p.m. ET on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+).
