Montreal Canadiens forward Jonathan Drouin aggravated his injured right wrist and is potentially facing surgery, Sportsnet's Eric Engels reported Saturday.

Engels adds that Drouin is going for a second opinion, but will have to wait as he is stuck at home due to a close contact of his having COVID-19.

Drouin has 20 points — six goals and 14 assists — in 34 games this season.

The 26-year-old returned to action last Saturday against the Ottawa Senators after missing 22 games due to the wrist injury.

He also played in Monday's contest against the Boston Bruins but was sent home Thursday after coming in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.

Drouin was placed on the injured reserve with an upper-body injury Friday.
