Jake Evans won't be returning to the ice for at least a few more weeks.
The Montreal Canadiens announced on Saturday that the forward is set to miss four to six weeks with a lower-body injury.
The forward suffered the injury against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Dec. 20 in the first period, and the four-to-six week timeline includes the week he has already missed.
Evans was injured in the opening period after colliding knee-on-knee with Penguins forward Justin Brazeau. He left the Canadiens' bench immediately and did not return.
Evans, 29, has five goals and 10 points in 33 games for the Canadiens this season.
