Montreal Canadiens goaltender Sam Montembeault underwent surgery on his right wrist on Friday but should be fully healed by training camp, GM Kent Hughes said Monday.

Dr. Robert Hotchkiss performed the operation at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.

In a year in which Carey Price was sidelined for much of the season and Jake Allen was on and off the injury list, Montembeault had 30 starts, finishing with an 8-18 record, and a 3.77 goals-against average and an .891 save percentage.
