Canadiens' Jake Allen day-to-day after collision with Red Wings' Larkin

Watch as Red Wings' Dylan Larkin drives the net and barrels into Canadiens' Jake Allen knocking his helmet off, he would not return in the second period.

Montreal Canadiens goaltender Jake Allen is day-to-day after suffering an injury on Saturday night in a loss against the Detroit Red Wings, coach Dominique Ducharme said Sunday.

Ducharme said the Canadiens continue to evaluate Allen after he was hurt following a first-period collision with Dylan Larkin, who was shoved into the goaltender by Montreal defenceman Jake Petry late in the first period.

Samuel Montembeault replaced Allen and was slated to start Sunday night against the Boston Bruins.

Adam Brooks also replaced forward Mike Hoffman (upper-body injury) in the lineup.
