Josh Anderson couldn't finish Saturday night's game against the Nashville Predators.
Anderson left the contest in the second period and was later ruled out by the Montreal Canadiens due to what the team deemed an illness.
He played just one shift at the start of the middle frame, recording 4:53 of ice time before exiting.
Entering Saturday's game, the 31-year-old Burlington, Ont., native had posted 22 points (13 goals and nine assists) in 68 games this season.
The Canadiens' next game is on Sunday against the Carolina Hurricanes in the second half of a back-to-back.
