Montreal Canadiens forward Josh Anderson left Wednesday's game against the Buffalo Sabres after taking a puck to the head late in the second period.
With the play in Montreal's zone, Anderson slid to block a shot from Sabres forward Casey Mittelstadt and caught the puck in the side of the head. Anderson remained down on the ice for a moment before heading to the dressing room.
The Canadiens announced after the game that both Anderson and Paul Byron, who was injured in the first period following a hit into the boards from Sabres defenceman Mattias Samuelsson, went to the hospital for precautionary reasons before returning to the team.
The team offered no timeline on when they'll be back in the lineup. Montreal's next game isn't until Saturday against the Ottawa Senators.

The 27-year-old Anderson has a team-leading 12 goals plus nine assists in 41 games this season.
