The Montreal Canadiens are getting some reinforcements.
Centre Kirby Dach and defenceman Jayden Struble will return to the lineup against the Minnesota Wild, the team announced on Tuesday.
Dach hasn't played since Nov. 15, when he suffered a fractured foot against the Boston Bruins. He's been on the shelf for Montreal's last 31 games.
The 24-year-old posted five goals and two assists through 15 contests before the injury. Dach is expected to slot in on the Canadiens' top line with Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki.
"It’s exciting, obviously some familiarity there, played with them (Caufield and Suzuki) in the past," Dach said Tuesday. "The team's rolling right now, so I just want to step in and do what I can do to help the team continue to win games."
Struble has missed the past two games due to an upper-body injury. He has six assists and is a minus-two in 36 games played.
With Struble returning to the lineup, the Canadiens confirmed that Arber Xhekaj will be a healthy scratch on Tuesday.
