Montreal Canadiens forward Paul Byron underwent hip surgery earlier this week and is expected to make a full recovery in five months.
The team’s general manager Marc Bergevin made the announcement Friday.
Byron’s surgery was performed by Dr. Bryan Kelly at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.
The 32-year-old had five goals 11 assists while averaging 12:51 of ice-time in 46 regular-season games this past season and skated in all 22 of Montreal’s playoff games during their run to the Stanley Cup Final.
