Canadiens send 2017 first-round pick Ryan Poehling down to AHL Laval

The Montreal Canadiens have assigned centre Ryan Poehling to Laval of the AHL.

Poehling fell short of cracking the Habs’ opening-night roster after playing the entire 2020-21 season for Laval, picking up 11 goals and 14 assists in 28 games.

A first-round pick (25th overall) by Montreal in the 2017 NHL Draft, Poehling has played 28 career games for the Canadiens, registering four goals and one assist.
