Jayden Struble is on the move.
The Montreal Canadiens traded the defenceman to the Nashville Predators in exchange for a 2027 second-round pick, the teams announced Friday.
Struble, 25, has appeared in three games this season for the Canadiens, going pointless and playing 12:05 minutes per game.
The Canadiens and Predators played each other on Thursday, but Struble did not suit up for that game.
He had signed a two-year, $2.825 million contract extension ($1.4125 million AAV) with Montreal through the 2026-27 season after avoiding arbitration.
The Cumberland, R.I. native was selected in the second round of the 2019 draft by the Canadiens and has since appeared in 174 games with Montreal, recording seven goals and 35 points while averaging 14:58 minutes per game.
