Alexandre Texier is extending his stay in Montreal.
The Montreal Canadiens have signed the forward to a two-year, $5-million extension, the club announced Wednesday.
Texier has seven goals and nine assists in 25 games with Montreal this season.
The Canadiens signed Texier to a one-year, $1-million deal in November after the St. Louis Blues terminated his $2.1-million deal.
Texier, 26, has 47 goals and 60 assists in 247 career games with the Columbus Blue Jackets, Blues and Canadiens.
Texier is the lone NHLer playing for France at next month's Winter Olympics.
