The Montreal Canadiens signed defenceman Madison Bowey to a one-year, two-way contract Wednesday.
Bowey, who won gold with Team Canada at the 2015 world juniors, spent the majority of 2021-22 with the AHL’s Abbotsford Canucks, recording eight goals, 20 assists and 80 penalty minutes in 53 games.
The 27-year-old, selected in the second round by Washington in 2013, has 158 games of NHL experience split between the Capitals, Red Wings, Blackhawks and Canucks but has only played four games at the NHL level since 2019-20.
Bowey suited up for two games with the Vancouver Canucks this past season.
Montreal general manager Kent Hughes also announced one-year, two-way contracts for forwards Anthony Richard and Mitchell Stephens.
