The Montreal Canadiens have added a propsect to their forward depth.
The team announced on Tuesday that Tyler Thorpe, a fifth-round pick last year, signed a three-year entry-level contract.
Thorpe, 19, will spend the remainder of the season on a professional tryout in the AHL before the contract kicks in.
The Richmond, B.C., right winger spent the past season with the WHL's Vancouver Giants, racking up 27 goals, 25 assists and 69 penalty minutes in 68 games.
The six-foot-five, 210-pound Thorpe added one goal and two helpers in five playoff games.
