A productive off-season for the Montreal Canadiens continued on Tuesday as they put pen to paper on another big-bodied forward.
The Canadiens signed left-winger Sammy Blais to a one-year, $775,000 deal, the team announced Tuesday.
Blais, 29, spent the 2024-25 season with the Abbotsford Canucks, helping them to a Calder Cup with 14 goals and 26 assists in the regular season and six goals and 13 assists in 23 post-season games.
His last season at the NHL level came with the St. Louis Blues in 2023-24, where he had one goal and six assists in 53 games but laid a team-leading 194 hits in only 53 games and a 9:41 average time on ice.
