The Montreal Canadiens are making a last-minute change to their lineup against the Buffalo Sabres.
Forward Alexander Texier has been scratched with a lower-body injury and will be replaced by Joe Veleno, the team announced on Saturday.
Texier has been a solid addition to the lineup since being acquired on Nov. 23, posting seven goals and 10 assists in 30 games.
Over 270 NHL games, the 26-year-old French forward registered 108 points (47 goals, 61 assists). Montreal and Texier agreed to a two-year, $5-million extension on Jan. 14.
Veleno, 26, has two goals and two assists in 46 games this season after signing with the Canadiens as a free agent in the off-season.
