Martin St. Louis is turning to his backup for Monday's divisional matchup.
Montreal Canadiens goalie Jakub Dobes will start in net against the Buffalo Sabres, St. Louis confirmed after morning skate.
The move comes after starter Sam Montembeault allowed four goals on 22 shots against the New York Rangers on Saturday, marking his second straight outing allowing that many pucks past him.
Meanwhile, in two starts this season, Dobes is 2-0 with a 1.46 goals-against average and a .940 save percentage.
Injured forwards Patrik Laine and Kiby Dach were also absent from morning skate, suggesting both would remain out of the lineup against the Sabres.
