Montreal Canadiens forward Tomas Tatar did not participate in warmups before Game 6 against the Toronto Maple Leafs and will not play in the potentially series-deciding contest.
Jake Evans slotted into the lineup instead, joining Phillip Danault and Brendan Gallagher on the Canadiens second line.
A reason for Tatar’s absence was not immediately available. Tatar has one assist in the series so far.
Evans, who was hurt during Game 1 against the Maple Leafs, was originally considered a game-time decision for Game 6. He has three goals and 13 points in 47 contests this season.
The Maple Leafs can advance to the second round with a win over Montreal in Game 6. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on Sportsnet and SN Now.
