The Montreal Canadiens are trading defenceman Joel Edmundson to the Washington Capitals for draft picks, Sportsnet can confirm.
Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reports that the Canadiens will retain 50 per cent of Edmundson's salary.
Edmundson, 30, scored two goals and 13 points across 61 games with Montreal last season.
