Sammy Blais is back on the market.
The Montreal Canadiens waived the forward on Tuesday, the team announced.
Blais was initially with the Canadiens in training camp before being waived and picked up by the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was then waived by the Maple Leafs in November and reclaimed by the Habs.
The 29-year-old skated in 13 games with the Canadiens, recording two goals and three assists.
He had one goal and two assists in eight games with the Maple Leafs.
Florida's Ryan McAllister, Pittsburgh's Filip Larsson and St. Louis's Samuel Johannesson were also waived Tuesday for the purpose of contract termination, per Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.
The NHL's Olympic roster freeze goes into effect on Wednesday at 3 p.m. ET / noon PT.
