The Vancouver Canucks retained a young depth forward on Thursday.
Aatu Raty cleared waivers, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.
The 23-year-old forward can now freely be assigned to Vancouver's AHL affiliate, the Abbotsford Canucks, after being made available to all 31 other teams on Wednesday.
Raty has struggled to start the season. He has scored one goal over four games and was a healthy scratch for Vancouver's first two games of the season. The Finn was scratched again on Tuesday for the Canucks' game against the New York Islanders.
Last season, the second-round pick had four goals and 10 assists over 66 games.
The Canucks acquired Raty, forward Anthony Beauvillier and a conditional draft pick from the New York Islanders in exchange for Bo Horvat in January 2023.
Raty won a Calder Cup championship with Abbotsford in 2025.
Meanwhile, Alex Barre-Boulet also cleared waivers. The 29-year-old San Jose Sharks centre has played in just two games this season and recorded one assist.
