Green added that Boeser looks close: “There’s a reason he’s on the trip.”
The 24-year-old was on the ice ahead of Canucks morning skate, but skated as an extra along with Nic Petan.
The club previously announced Monday that the star winger would begin the season on injured reserve.
Details about Boeser’s injury have not been disclosed. On Oct. 1, Green declared Boeser would miss “about a week” and he returned to the ice Oct. 9.
He had 23 goals and 49 points in 56 games last season.
The team opens the regular season on Wednesday in Edmonton against the Oilers on Sportsnet at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT. Here were the lines at morning skate:
