The Vancouver Canucks and their fans can breathe a sigh of relief: their No. 1 goaltender and his prized pet tortoises have made it across the U.S.-Canada border.
On Wednesday, Brandi Tweeted that the couple needed help in securing export papers from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for their pets and Braden was stuck at the border with the two tortoises.
The long-time Washington Capitals netminder and 2015-16 Vezina Trophy winner joined the Canucks in the off-season on a two-year, $8.6-million contract to replace the outgoing Jacob Markstrom.
